| Maintaining
the correct date and time in your telephone and voice mail
systems is essential for most organizations because these
settings affect several operations, as well as the time
shown in the display of your telephones.
Voice mail systems insert the date and time into
messages left by callers, and some systems are programmed to
use the date and time for enabling day/night greetings as well as
day/night ringing patterns.
For these reasons and many others, it is advisable to
keep the date and time set correctly on both telephone and
voice mail systems.
Most businesses will make 2 changes per year, from Standard
Time in the Spring to Daylight Saving Time in the Fall.
While your system administration guide booklets provides
step-by-step instructions for this process, we have also
included these instructions below for your convenience. |

Avaya/Lucent
Partner ACS Systems...
Note: Your system may be pre-programmed from the factory for automatic
Daylight Saving Time changes according to the OLD Daylight
Saving Time schedule (1st Sunday of April thru the last Sunday of
October). If you manually change the time according to the
NEW Daylight Saving Time schedule (2nd Sunday of March thru the
1st Sunday of November), and discover that your system is ALSO
automatically changing the time according to the OLD
schedule, please deactivate the automatic feature per the below
instructions.
How to deactivate the Automatic Daylight Savings
Time feature:
- From
extension 10 or 11, press [ FEATURE ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ]
- Press
the LEFT intercom button twice
- Dial [ #
] [ 1 ] [ 2 ] [ 6 ]
- The
default setting is 1 (active). To deactivate, dial 2
- Exit
from System Administration [ FEATURE ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ]
How to manually set the time:
- Log in to the PARTNER ACS system in the System Administration
mode from extension 10 or 11, press [ FEATURE ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ]
- Press the LEFT intercom button twice
- Dial [ # ] [ 1 ] [ 0 ] [ 3 ]
- Enter the new time in 24-hour notation. For example, to set the
time to 2:15pm, press [ 1 ] [ 4 ] [ 1 ] [ 5 ]
- Exit from System Administration [ FEATURE ] [ 0 ] [ 0 ]

Samsung
Digital phone systems... including DCS, DCS
Compact, DCS 50si, DCS 400si, iDCS 500, iDCS 100, DS 616
And
Samsung Voice
mail systems... including SVMi-4, SVMi-8, and Cadence.
This is
a multi-step process which involves entering administrator level programming and then setting the date and time.
Programming can
only be done from a 12 or 24 button display telephone.
- With your handset
on-hook, press TRSF and then
dial 200. Your display then
shows ENABLE CUS. PROG. PASSCODE:
- Dial your 4-digit pass code 1234
(which is the default pass code).
The display then shows ENABLE CUS.
PROG. DISABLE.
If the pass code 1234 does not work as stated, please
see Samsung
DCS Notes below.
- Dial
1 to enable. The display now
shows ENABLE CUS. PROG. ENABLE.
- Press TRSF and the
display
will return to its idle condition.
Now that you have entered administrative level programming, you must begin programming within 30 seconds.
Any delay of more than 30
seconds between keystrokes will cause the system to automatically
exit the programming mode.
- Next enter the new date and time as follows:
Press TRSF
and then dial 505. The display
then shows the current date and time setting on your system.
The example below shows Monday, April 7, 2003, 9:30 AM.
- OLD:

- Enter the correct date using the dial pad as follows:
W= Day of the week (0-6; Week begins on
Monday and ends on Sunday)
MM= Month (01-12)
DD= Day of the month (01-31)

HH= Hour (Use 24 hour clock and enter the range of 00-23)
MM= Minutes (00-59)
Press TRSF to store and exit
programming.
If you
have entered invalid data, you will receive an INVALID ENTRY
message for three seconds.
Reenter the date and time.
The new date and time will now be
updated for all LCD
phones on the system. Some internal voice mail systems use
this time and date setting. These include SVMi-4, SVMi-8, and Cadence voice mail
systems. Other voice mail systems must be set independently from
the telephone system. We have listed instructions for several
popular voice mail
systems above.
Samsung
DCS Notes: 1234 is the default pass code for entering customer programming.
The system administrator can change this code if desired. If the
code has been changed, please input the new code instead of
1234.

Samsung
Prostar
816 Plus
This is a
multi-step process which involves entering administrator programming and
then setting the date and time. Programming can be done from any display
telephone.
- Enter administrator level programming with your handset on-hook,
press #06. Your display then
shows MMC DISABLED.
- Dial your 4-digit pass code 4321
(which is the default pass code), followed by 1#.
At this time, customer programming is enabled.
If the pass code 4321 does not work as stated, please see
Prostar
816 Plus Notes.
- Next enter the date and time, press #55
and the display will show:
(YY MM DD W HH MM)
- Enter new information as follows:
YY= Last two digits of the year (01)
MM= Month (01-12)
DD= Day of the month (01-31)
W=
Day of the week (1-7; Week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday)
HH= Hour (Use 24 hour clock and enter the range of 00-23)
MM= Minutes (00-59)
- Dial # to finish
setting the date and time. The phone now returns to normal
use and all display phones have been updated to the correct date
and time by this action. Voicemail systems must be set
independently from the telephone system. We have listed
instructions for several popular voice
mail systems above.
Prostar
Plus Notes: 4321 is the default code for entering
customer programming. The system Administrator can change this code if
desired. If the code has changed, please input the new code here
instead of 4321. This program only works on the Prostar 816 Plus,
and not the Prostar 816H.

This is a
multi-step process which involves entering administrator programming and
then setting the date and time. Programming can be done from any display
telephone.
- Enter administrator level programming with your handset on-hook, press #20. Your display then
shows (OPEN SYSTEM PGM-
ENTER CODE:).
- Dial your 4-digit pass code 4321
(which
is the default pass code), the display then shows (OPEN
SYSTEM PGM- CLOSED).
If the pass code
4321 does not work as stated, please see Prostar
56/1224 Notes.
- Press the MUTE
key and the display will show (OPEN SYSTEM PGM-
OPEN).
- Press # and
your phone returns to idle condition. You must begin programming
within 60 seconds. Once in programming, any delay of more than 60
seconds between keystrokes will cause the system to automatically close
programming.
- Dial #70
and the display shows (YY MM/DD HH:MM).
- Enter the current date and time as follows:
YY=
Last two digits of the year
MM=
Month (01 for January through 12 for December)
DD=
Day of the month (01-31)
W=
Day of the week (1-7; Week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday)
HH=
Hour (Use 24 hour clock--Failure to enter time in 24 hour clock will
cause the date to change at 12:00 noon.)

Dial # to store and exit. The
phone now returns to normal use and all display phones have been updated
to the correct date and time by this action. If
invalid data is entered, you will receive the (INVALID
ENTRY) message for three seconds. Reenter the correct date
and time. Should the information entered be incorrect, please
repeat the procedure.
Prostar
5EX/1224
Notes: 4321 is the default code for entering
administrator programming. Some systems have reversed this to 1234.
Please
try this if 4321 does not work. What's more, the system
Administrator can change this code if desired. If the code has
changed, please input the new code here instead of 4321.

NEC Aspire
and Aspire S
Note: Your
system may be pre-programmed from the factory for automatic Daylight
Saving Time changes according to the OLD Daylight Saving
Time schedule (1st Sunday of April thru the last Sunday of October).
If you manually change the time according to the NEW
Daylight Saving Time schedule (2nd Sunday of March thru the 1st Sunday
of November), and discover that your system is ALSO
automatically changing the time according to the OLD
schedule, please call National Telesystems for assistance.
This process
will set the time in the display of your telephones and in the voicemail
system.
- Press SPK
- Dial 828
- Dial two digits for the hour (24 hour clock, 13 = 1:00 PM)
- Dial two digits for the minutes (00-59)
- Press SPK to hang up

NEC i-Series
(28i/124i/124ie/384i/704i)
and Nitsuko I Series
To set the time and date for your i-Series system:
- From the System Administrator's telephone (normally extension
301), press CALL1 and dial 828.
- Dial the Time and Date password.
The password is normally 0000.
- Dial two digits for the year (e.g., 05).
- Dial two digits for the month (01-12).
- Dial two digits for the day (01-31).
- Dial the day of the week (0-6).
0=Sunday, 6=Saturday
- Dial two digits for the hour (24 hour).
For example, 13=1:00 PM.
- Dial two digits for the minutes (00-60).
You hear confirmation beeps.
- Press SPK to hang up.

Digital Systems... including Mach
I, Starplus Digital, DVX, XTS, and STS.
Note: Some
systems may be pre-programmed from the factory for automatic Daylight
Saving Time changes according to the OLD Daylight Saving

- Dial 692 on the dial pad
- Enter Time and Date in the following format: YY MM DD HH MM

MM= Minute (00-59)
- When the correct number of digits are entered, confirmation tone
will be heard.
Performing this operation will adjust the time setting on all display
phones.

Starplus Systems... including Starplus 616, 1224,
2448, and 96EX Systems.
Please Note! The Time and date are to be set from the first attendant
station. (The default for this station is extension 100).
- Press ON/OFF button
- Dial 76 on the dial pad
- Enter time and date as follows: YY MM DD HH MM
YY= Year (01)
MM= Month (01-12)
DD= Day (01-31)
HH= Hour (00-23)
MM= Minute (00-59)
- Press HOLD
Performing this operation will adjust the time setting on all display
phones.

WIN...
including 24D, 36D, 36DX, and 100D
Note: The time can only be set from an assigned display phone
or Station 10. On a WIN 100D, time is to be set from the
Receptionist phone. Performing this operation will adjust the time
setting on all display phones.
- Press FEAT button
- Dial 32
- Dial 4 Digit Hour
- Dial * for AM or Dial #
for PM
- Press FEAT button
- Press HF button

Starmail
Voicemail
- Press the Voicemail button on
your phone. This is normally labeled Voicemail or VM.
- Press 8 to return to the main
greeting.
- Dial **456# to enter
Administrative Programming.
- At the "Enter Function" prompt, dial 320#
.
- After playing the current time, the system will prompt you through
entering the new time. Be sure to enter 1 for AM or 2 for PM.
- Press # to confirm.
- Press # again until the prompt
says "Enter Function".
- At the "Enter Function" prompt, dial 111#
to exit programming.

Telekol,
Minitel, Nokia Voicemail Systems
- Press Voicemail button.
- When asked to enter your passcode, dial *.
- When you hear the main greeting, press *
again.
- When asked for your mailbox number, enter 999.
- Enter Access Code. Enter 9876.
- From the Mailbox Owner's Menu, dial 9
to reach the Administrative Options Menu.
- Dial 3 for system configuration.
- Dial 3 to set the time.
- Follow prompts as instructed.

Vodavi MiniVoice Voicemail Systems
- Dial into voice mail.
- Dial # followed by the System Administrator Mailbox number:
# + 0 = 2 Digit mailbox system
# + 00 = 3 Digit mailbox system
# + 000 = 4 Digit mailbox system
The system will announce: “Mailbox 15-0”, which is the System
Administrator Mailbox number.
- When requested, enter Administrator password. 9#56 is the
default password for administrator access.
- Dial 4 - Set Time / Date.
- Dial 2 to change data.
- After the first prompt, enter the time in four-digit military
time format e.g., 0930 for 9:30 A.M. or 1830 for 6:30 P.M.
- After the second prompt, enter the date as a six-digit number in
MMDDYY format. You are then returned to the prompt that asks if you
want to review data, change data, or exit.
- Press ** to exit system.

Southwestern
Bell Landmark
IMPORTANT...
This is a
multi-step process which involves entering administrator programming and
then setting the date and time. Programming must be done from a professional display
telephone. The term "soft key" mentioned below refers to
the buttons just below the LCD display.
- With the handset on-hook, press Feature
# * and your display will then prompt you for the pass
code.
- Enter your pass code. (The default pass code is 0
0 0 0 0 0).
- Press the SHOW soft key and
the display will then read 1. SET
- Press the NEXT soft key 3
times until 4. RESOURCE appears in the display.
- Press the SHOW soft key.
- Press the NEXT soft key
9 times until SYSTEM TIME
appears in the display.
- Press the SHOW soft key and
the year appears in the display.
(If you simply wish to change the hour for
Daylight Savings Time, you may press NEXT repeatedly to bypass the
YEAR, MONTH, DAY, and WEEKDAY, and skip directly to step 15).
- Press the CHG soft key
followed by the 4-digit year.
- Press the SAVE soft key
followed by the NEXT soft key
and the month appears in the display.
- Press the CHG soft key to
change the month. This is a toggle changing process
(JAN/FEB/.../DEC) followed by the SAVE
soft key.
- Press the NEXT soft key and
the 2-digit day will appear.
- Press the CHG soft key enter
the 2-digit date followed by the
SAVE soft key.
- Press the NEXT soft key and
the weekday appears in the display (MON/TUE/.../SUN).
This is a toggle changing process followed by the SAVE
soft key.
- Press the NEXT soft key and
the 2-digit hour appears in the display.
- Press the CHG soft key and
enter the 2-digit hour followed
by the SAVE soft key.
- Press the NEXT soft key and
the 2-digit minute appears in the display.
- Press the CHG soft key and enter the 2-digit
minute followed by the SAVE
soft key.
Press
the RLS button to exit
programming.

Southwestern
Bell FS246 IMPORTANT...
Time and date are set at the Master station (#20) only and the
information is shown on all of the Executive stations on the
system. When setting or resetting of either Time or Date is
required, always set both Time and Date. NOTE: Neither # nor
* keys are used in programming Time and Date.
- Press the SET TIME key and the
display will show HH-MM (Hour-Minute).
- Enter the 4 digit time and
press the AM/PM key for
PM only. As an example, to enter 2:05 PM, press 0 2
0 5 and the AM/PM key.
- Press the SET TIME key and the
display will now show the correct time on all executive phones.
- Press the ALARM key and your
display will show MM-dd-YY (Month-Day-Year).
- Enter the 6 digit year and
press the SET TIME key. To
see the date, press the DATE key or wait for a short time and the
display will automatically return to Time.
